Hyundai has launched its global SUV Tucson in India today with an introductory pricing. Placed between the Creta and the SantaFe, the prices of Tucson starts at Rs 18.99 lakh for the petrol base model and goes upto Rs 24.99 lakh for the Diesel top spec variant (all ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Tucson will be available in petrol and diesel engine options. The diesel one is a 2.0-litre CRDi unit with 185 PS while the petrol version gets a 2.0-litre dual VTVT which develops 155 PS. Both the engine comes paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox. There isn’t an all wheel drive system on offer though. Also, the Tucson only gets ground clearance of only 172 mm which is not quite impressive for an SUV in India.
Hyundai claims fuel efficiency of the Tucson with diesel engine at 18.42 kmpl and 16.38 kmpl for the manual and automatic respectively and 13.03 kmpl and 12.95 kmpl with the petrol engine for the manual and automatic respectively.
Inside the cabin, Tucson gets familiar Hyundai dashboard with simple layout but more practicality. Center console hosts an 8-inch touchscreen system that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, bluetooth connectivity, USB and aux-in. The top-spec variant gets 10-way power adjustable driver seat, keyless entry and push start/stop button.
Long list of the safety features includes 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, front & rear parking sensors with reverse camera, electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management, hill-start assist control, downhill brake control.
The new Tucson will be available in 5 body colour options- Pure white, Phantom Black, Wine red, Star dust and Sleek silver.
