[Updated]: Toyota confirms New Fortuner launch on Nov 7, spotted at a dealership again

Toyota has finally confirmed that the launch of the Next-gen Fortuner will happen on November 7. Meanwhile more SUV’s have been spotted at the dealerships ahead of the launch. Bookings of the SUV will most likely start from next week, as one of the dealers told us.

New pictures from a Team-BHP member shows a black Fortuner inside Toyota’s Ahmedabad dealership. Earlier, in the pictures posted by Autocar India, the SUV was seen without any camouflages at what it is said to be a Toyota dealership or workshop.

After the ban from the 2000 cc+ diesel vehicles has been lifted from Delhi-NCR, Toyota has planned to launch the SUV earlier than planned. The new Fortuner was initially planned to be launched in India next year but after the launch of new Ford Endeavour with latest tech-specs and fresh design, the current Fortuner started to look a bit outdated and Fortuner’s sales too have been effected negatively.

Apart from the sportier design, the next-gen Fortuner will be equipped with all latest tech & features and will be powered by the 2.4-litre and 2.8-litre engines locally manufactured at company’s Bengaluru engine plant. With different variants with both engines, it will be offered in 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options along with optional four wheel drive system.

With the premium features and fresh looks, the prices of new Fortuner are expected to go beyond Rs 30 lakh for the top spec model which currently costs around Rs 28 lakh. It will be put against the likes of Ford Endeavour, Hyundai SantaFe and Chevrolet Trailblazer.
