Nissan India has introduced the Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) on thier Terrano SUV. Available only in the top spec variant, the AMT version of the SUV is priced at Rs 13.75 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). Bookings of the Terrano AMT have already been started for Rs 25,000 at all the Nissan dealerships. However, the sales will begin by the end of this month.
The Terrano gets the same Easy-R AMT unit that is offered in its cousin, the Renault Duster. The regular manual versions remains unchanged and continues to be offered with a 6-speed manual transmission. Both the gearboxes comes mated to the 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 110PS of max power and 248Nm of peak torque.
Claimed fuel efficiency for the AMT version of Terrano is 19.61kmpl. The Terrano AMT also comes equipped with hill-assist control and electronic stability programme.
Besides the AMT gearbox, Nissan says that there are 14 new additional features such as- Electrically retractable ORVMs with indicators, anti-pinch driver side window, driver armrest, and soft touch plastics on the dashboard and the door trims. Nissan has also added a new ‘Sandstone brown’ colour option for the entire Terrano range.
The Terrano competes against a bunch of rivals like the Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Honda BR-V and Maruti Suzuki S-Cross.
