Skoda has again released camouflaged picture of it’s upcoming 7 seater SUV Kodiaq. Company has announced that the Kodiaq will have its world premiere in Berlin on 1 September and will make public debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
The SUV is based on Skoda’s VisionS concept which was unveiled last year and Skoda announced that the production version of the concept will be called as ‘Kodiaq’ which is named after a species of Alaskan bear ‘Kodiak’. Kodiaq will be company’s first 3 row crossover to be in the market.
The SUV is based on the Volkswagen Group’s modular MQB platform and reportedly, will offer engine options: 1.4-liter TSI & 1.8-liter TSI for petrol and 1.6-liter TDI & 2.0-liter TDI for diesel, variable according to different countries. The transmission options will be 6-speed manual and DSG dual-clutch automatic.
The Skoda Kodiaq will go on sale in Europe in early-2017 which indicates that the Indian launch might happen around mid 2017. It will take on the rivals like Renault Koleos, Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour & Hyundai SantaFe.
