Name a segment where Maruti Suzuki has a car and is not leading the segment. After being the leader in entry level hatchback, mid size hatchback and compact sedan segment company entered in compact SUV segment with Vitara Brezza 2 months back, and in just second month of it’s launch, Vitara Brezza has managed to beat top UVs of the list and climbed up to 2nd position with almost neck to neck with Hyundai Creta which is topping the list by merely 68 units more than the Brezza.
Vitara Brezza came into the top 10 list in March itself when it was launched. Now in just second month after launch, it has managed to beat Mahindra’s most popular SUV Bolero by a big margin. Bolero was at the top last year in April with 8729 units which is dropped down by 34% to only 5785 units in April this year. Another fact worth noticing is the difference between the numbers of Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport. EcoSport was said to be the closest rival of the Brezza but it has outsold the Ford’s SUV by more than double numbers of units. The way Vitara Brezza is performing for Maruti Suzuki, it wont be surprising if it beats Creta also and tops the chart very soon.
One positive for Mahindra is the performance of KUV100 which has managed to stay in the list consistently. Other names in the list for Mahindra are Scorpio and XUV500 while Maruti Suzuki has two more dominating names in the list as Ertiga and S-Cross.
