At the currently ongoing 2016 Beijing Motor show, Volkswagen has showcased a full size SUV concept T-Prime GTE. The design of concept is well balanced with aggression, sportiness and futuristic touches.
The T-Prime concept SUV is 5070mm long, 1999mm wide and 1707mm tall giving a perfect big size SUV stance. The exterior design looks so practical and might not be changed much when going for the production purpose. The C shaped LED DRLs looks so modern and appealing while the middle chrome strips continued by the headlamps are quite sporty and futuristic.
Inside, There is a 12-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15-inch curved touchscreen infotainment system. The steering wheel also has touch sensitive controls which shows a glimpse of where the technology will take us in the future.
The T-Prime Concept GTE is built on the MLB platform same as the Audi Q7 and the recently launched Bentley Bentayga. Under the hood, it is powered by a 2.0-liter, 248hp and 370Nm of torque turbocharged engine incorporated with 134hp and 349Nm electric motor plug-in hybrid drive which provides impressive combined output of 375 bhp and 699Nm. The engine is mated on 8-speed automatic gearbox and transfers power through a 4Motion permanent all-wheel-drive system.
